In women’s month on the 14th of August 2021 the Engcobo Local Municipality hosted a handover of wheel chairs at Engcobo new council chamber. Eastern Cape Premier Hon. Oscar Mabuyane together with Engcobo Local Municipality Mayor Hon.Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa handed over an electronic wheel chair sponsored by Nedbank to a person living with a disability who is residential at ward 03 under ward councillor Sambona Noludwe. Due to Covid-19 regulation under alert 3 all protocols were followed wearing of mask sanitising. This function which was led by Hon. Oscar Mabuyane Premier Eastern Cape was to promote the freedom of ability to move from point A to point B without having the need of being driven to a particular destination and as well as to eliminate the physiological dependency syndrome and therefore create a world of possibilities for people living with disabilities.
