The Engcobo Local Municipality Mayor, Hon. Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa together with the portfolio head for community services, Hon. Cllr Bongeka Nobuntu donated 5 laptops with 3g cards to All Saints Hospital in the afternoon of the 01/09/2021. Those ICT devices were handed over to the Hospital CEO, Mr Sontamo and Ms Nontobeko Manqinana, the Acting Sub District Manager for Primary Health Care. The Municipality made such a donation as a contribution to expedite the registration and vaccination and increase the reported low numbers of community members that have registered and vaccinated.
The Engcobo Municipal area has been hit so hard by the past COVID 19 waves with high numbers of infections and deaths. In her reply, Ms Manqinana indicated that, those gadgets would assist in the registration and capturing process at the rural vaccination sites. The registration verification process would be fast tracked and no delays will be experienced by those at the vaccination sites. The Engcobo Local Municipality is committed in saving and bettering the lives of community, said Hon.Mayor Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa.
