OPENING AND WELCOMING REMARKS, BY HONORABLE MAYOR, COUNCILLOR SIYABULELA ZANGQA, ON THE POLICY REVIEW WORKSHOP, HELD IN EAST LONDON, ICC, 03 MAY 2021

Program director , Honorable Speaker , Chief Whip, Exco Members, Chairpersons of section 79 Committees Honorable Councillors, Iinkosi Zezwe lakokwethu eziyinxalenye yebhunga lethu, Municipal officials as led by the Municipal Manager, Our Labour unions, Ladies and gentlemen

Let me take this opportunity, to open and welcome everyone present here this morning. We are gathered here this morning, to carry out an important task, and that task is to review policies of our institution. We shall be doing this important work over this week. I am appealing to each an every individual, to take this important session very serious. Ngcobo Council has mandated us to do and to undertake this important work on its behalf. I want to make this important point, that whatever we shall be doing over these few days, will be to examine, assess and engage on the policies that were guiding us during the financial year that is coming to an end on 30 June 2021.
